Are you managing your email inbox or is it managing you? Changing your relationship with your email inbox is the first step to learning how to manage it. Learn how to move email messages out of the inbox and into action. Using the Orla 4D 's, "Ditch","Deal","Delegate" and "Decide", you will stop using your email inbox as a never-ending To Do list with no sense of order or priority and start using it as the powerful communication tool it was intended to be. I will provide tips on how to improve the quality and decrease the quantity of your email messages. Back to Presentation Topic List Task and Time Management in the Era of Information Overload Unlike traditional time management training, this session focuses on teaching you how to structure and prioritize your work throughout the day so that you get more done. We are receiving more information, from a variety of different sources than we were just a few years ago. As more time is being spent out in the "cloud", less work is getting done in the office. It is possible to balance all of these new technologies and still get your job done. Prioritizing, multitasking, distractions, and avoidance are also explored. The lessons learned in this session are sure to increase the personal productivity of the audience members. Back to Presentation Topic List I am not a Social Media guru or consultant, but I am an independent business owner who has had to learn all about this new wave of social media and how to apply it to increase my business. The experience of my journey is shared with other professionals who might be asking, "Do I really need to do social media?" or "Will that really have any impact on my business?" We cover the specific business reasons why social media is valuable. I provide an understanding of Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn in plain English that everyone is sure to understand. After attending this session the audience will know specifically why they should be using social media, how to develop a social media strategy, and how to get started. Back to Presentation Topic List Turning Chaos to Order at Home While the focus of my business is office productivity, I am passionate about helping busy families be organized so that they can relax and enjoy their family life. As a working mom with two school-aged boys, I know the struggles that family's face, especially during the school year. Household management can be a full-time job of it's own. Schedules, homework, activities, play dates, carpooling, house work, chores, bills, medical issues and so much more can be hard for even the most organized person to manage. The tips and simple systems I teach will help reduce stress and anxiety in your home. Back to Presentation Topic List I have been trained and certified by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) to offer a classroom program for students in elementary school from grades 2-6. The emphasis of the Elementary School program is managing “stuff.” A disorganized child character, Drake or Hazel, is introduced to the students in an interactive way that illustrates how being disorganized affects the character’s life. The students find ways to get Drake/Hazel organized and see how being organized helps him/her. A hands-on organizing exercise then teaches students some basic organizing principles and the concept of sorting. Back to Presentation Topic List
